We had a great day today at the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama.  League representatives Rick Mueller, Brendan Rowe, Byron Ellis, Eddy Janczewski along with a number of coaches were all in attendance at the South practice.  Steve Hale (Senior Bowl President/CEO) has been extremely hospitable to the UFL and has done a great job with this year’s event.  We were constantly congratulated on a successful “Premiere” season by countless NFL coaches, scouts, executives and media and were eager to hear of our plans for the coming year. 

The Washington Redskins continue to piece together their coaching staff.

The Redskins officially announced the hiring of Jim Haslett as Mike Shanahan's defensive coordinator Friday afternoon, cementing the deal that was struck Tuesday night.

"I have a great deal of respect for what Jim has done in this league," Shanahan said in a statement released through the team. "He is one of the game's sharpest defensive minds and has a great passion for the sport. He will be instrumental to our success in Washington."

The United Football League continues its mission of providing opportunities for players and coaches at the highest levels as Florida Tuskers Head Coach Jim Haslett transitions to a new role as Defensive Coordinator of the Washington Redskins.

Jim Haslett is headed back to the NFL.
