When the UFL announced that they would be having there inaugural season this fall, I was excited, very excited.

Even in the wake of these uncertain economic times and past National Football League defeated rivals the World Football League, the United States Football League and the XFL going by the wayside of the older more established league that has become an American Institution over almost 90 years of play.  The United Football League (UFL) led by Commissioner Michael Huyghue, a former NFL team executive, will try to provide a professional football alternative this fall.

With kickoff less than four months away, the United Football League has strengthened its football and business operations staff with the hiring of Brendan Rowe, Dean Blandino, Peter Morrissey and Justin Hesterlee. 
 

In 25 seasons as an NFL assistant, including 10 as a defensive coordinator, Cottrell earned a reputation as one of the innovators of the 3-4 scheme and parlayed his success into seven interviews for head-coaching vacancies.

The UFL held its inaugural season draft. Each franchise selected 24 players and now owns the rights to those players if they choose to play in the United Football League.
