The United Football League, in association with Tribune companies FOX 61 News, the Hartford Courant and CTNow.com, is inviting football fans in the state of Connecticut to suggest their favorite name for the new professional football team that will play in Hartford when the 2010 UFL season kicks off.

Chris Palmer has coached football for 38 years, including 20 consecutive years in the National Football League. Coach Palmer played quarterback in Danbury, Connecticut and at the collegiate level for Southern Connecticut State. His first coaching job was for the University of Connecticut and his first head coaching job was for the University of New Haven.

Chris Palmer, a former high school player and coach in Connecticut and recently the New York Giants quarterbacks coach, has been named Head Coach and General manager of the United Football League Hartford team.

The City of Hartford and State of Connecticut will become home to the United Football League and the former New York Sentinels when the league’s second season kicks off in the fall of 2010.

The Florida Tuskers held a successful press conference on Tuesday when they named Jay Gruden as the new head coach of the franchise.
