
The United Football League (UFL) today announced that members of the Florida Tuskers spent their day off on October 16 visiting with children at Florida Hospital for Children and the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida (Universal Orlando Branch).
The Florida Tuskers are currently undefeated after their first two games in the UFL’s “Premiere” season. Head Coach Jim Haslett gave the team off today and encouraged the players to take some time to get to know their host city of Orlando by interacting with children in the area
“Orlando is the home of the Tuskers,” Haslett said. “We’ve had a grueling five weeks of workouts as we prepared for the season to start. These guys deserve a day off. I’m proud to say that when I suggested guys get out in the community, almost everyone on the team signed up.”
Tuskers’ players, including quarterback Brooks Bollinger, tight end Jermaine Wiggins and cornerback Ricky Manning, Jr., took part in today’s community visits. The players spent time at the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida and the Florida Hospital for Children. They played games and participated in other activities with the children, visited patients in their hospital rooms and more.
