The man quarterback Carson Palmer used to call “The Mouth of the South” is back with the Cincinnati Bengals and rookie tight end Chase Coffman’s disappointing season is over.
Defensive tackle Shaun Smith, known for his constant trash-talking, is back with the team after stints with the Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions and, most recently, Las Vegas of the United Football League.

The New Orleans Saints announced a pair of practice squad transactions, releasing quarterback Chase Daniel from the practice squad and signing linebacker Prince Kwateng to the practice squad. Kwateng (6-2, 235) is a rookie from Northwestern who played with the California Redwoods of the UFL earlier this fall.

The Washington Redskins released Suisham on Tuesday and signed former Florida State standout Graham Gano to replace him, according to a league source. Gano, who spent last summer in training camp with the Baltimore Ravens and this season in the UFL, beat out kickers such as Mike Nugent, Nick Novak and Shane Andrus for the Redskins kicking job.
