New William Hambrecht Trophy to Debut During United Football League Championship Game Week

OMAHA, NE – Monday, November 22 – A new United Football League William Hambrecht Championship Trophy will make its debut during Championship Game Week, and will be presented to the 2010 season champion on November 27 at Rosenblatt Stadium in Omaha, Nebraska.

The William Hambrecht Championship Trophy was designed and manufactured by 343RLP+Creative Group of New York, in association with Thomas Lyte Silver of England.

“I feel we have created an iconic trophy that will become instantly recognizable within professional sports as we continue to grow the United Football League brand,” said UFL Commissioner MICHAEL HUYGHUE.  “It is a fine tribute to league founder Bill Hambrecht and will serve as an impressive showpiece for our annual Championship Game.”

The new trophy stands approximately 38 inches in height, and is comprised of four pieces.

The first piece is a smooth 3D regulation size polished silver plated football adjoined seamlessly on top of a contoured shaped and engraved silver plated UFL logo.  The football depicts raised strings and stitching along with the engraved UFL league logo on each side of the laces in addition to the signature of Commissioner Huyghue.

Topping the customizable silver plated black wooden base are engraved silver plaques, reading “William Hambrecht Trophy” and “United Football League Championship” on each side.

The third piece features three silver-plated 14-inch columns, while a black wooden plinth has a silver-plated top with a raised and centered engraved UFL medallion between the columns finished with a black woolen cloth on the base.

The trophy also features plaques to commemorate the 2009 UFL champion Las Vegas Locomotives and the names of future UFL champions.

During the UFL Championship Game week, the following Marines will guard the trophy during its tour of venues around the Omaha area: Staff Sgt Gibson, Corporal Keiser, Sgt Benne, Sgt Pfeffer, Sgt Peterson, SgtMaj Sackett, MSgt Kerley and MGySgt Boland.
