Today I was announced as the General Manager and Head Coach of the Hartford franchise of the United Football League.
This is another first in my career as this is the first time I have served in that dual role. It is fitting, however, that this milestone is happening in Connecticut. After all much of my life has been defined by landmark events in this state. The University of Connecticut gave me my first paid position in football and the University of New Haven offered me my first head coaching job.

The 2009 football season has provided fans with wildly exciting games across all levels of the sport - from the NFL to the NCAA to the UFL. Few football fans will forget the Idaho/Bowling Green bowl game this past bowl season - or, for that matter, Auburn versus Northwestern, Penn State versus LSU and the list goes on.
During the NFL playoffs we have been treated to some exhilarating games as well. I was excited to watch wide receiver Pierre Garçon showcase his abilities during the Indianapolis Colts victory in the AFC Championships. Garçon attended Mount Union College and was a 6th Round...
